Hey--I camped you with you at that little campsite outside of Wingdale, CT, and it just recently dawned on me that you had probably made it to Georgia by now, so I did a Google search and found this blog, and it looks like you made it! Amazing! I hope it was everything you wanted it to be. Thanks for hanging out and sacrificing your cooker to the campfire. --Anthony, originally posted January 30, 2010 11:45 AM
Congrats Karrie, I read about your hike in the press enterprise. I had my first experience on the AT this year, a section from Fontana Dam,NC to Springer Mt. I wish I didn't have to work so I could thru-hike but I'm content to sectional hike hoping to sectional hike the Whites in July. Thanks for sharing your journey, I learned the same lesson you did. Life is simple, less is more. Godspeed in your future hikes. --Originally posted February 1, 2010 9:57 PM
A really well done journal. Of course I have not read it all, but will work on during my bicycle ride. You were the highlight of my days at Hardcore this year. Now go kayaking... --Warren, findingwarren.com, originally posted May 19, 2010 11:12 AM
Hi Karrie, I work in the editorial department at Stackpole Books, a midsize publisher of outdoor and other nonfiction books. We're interested in using a couple of excerpts from your blog in a book of AT stories we're putting together--could you please contact me when you see this comment? I'd love to tell you more about the project and see if you're interested. Best, Kathryn Fulton kfulton[at]stackpolebooks.com Originally posted on June 24, 2011 4:03 PM
